Commander Chassis is all about Charlie Thornton, who has been building off road vehicles from the
ground up since the 70’s, and Charlie is all about fabrication. From a Texas motorhead racing
motorcycles and buggies in the 60’s Charlie has become a master mechanic, machinist, and welder.
He now designs and builds some pretty sophisticated custom motor sports chassis and off road
machines including rock crawlers, unlimited class buggies,1600’s, prerunners, a super farm pulling
tractor, off road buggy, custom roll cages, cages for pulling tractors, he even built an
airplane a few years back.

Commander Chassis is still building Off Road Vehicles in the new Idaho shop. So, if you don’t have
the time to build one yourself or just want a safe, sophisticated chassis to build up, give him a
call. The Commander Chassis is still available, but…… What Charlie really loves is a new design
challenge!

Everything we sell, we use in our business. We either manufacture it or we have found the
best of what is available. We try to deal exclusively with onshore, American manufacturers.

machine shop. We can make special one off projects. We have reverse engineering capabilities. Did
we tell you Charlie is also a Journeyman machinist. We will never be rich, but we have lots of
